Finally, I can sit down and write a post after putting two kids to sleep. The young one sleeps with me, and he will turn in bed 720′ now and then. You know how I long for a good uninterrupted sleep. My husband will say I didn’t put my two kids in cribs, so not having an uninterrupted sleep is kind of my own doing.
I can’t let my babies sleep alone and look for me in the middle of the night. I just can’t. It is my personal choice. I let them fall asleep while breastfeeding. But I felt guilty when we found out they had cavities.
Babies can “catch” cavities from their caregivers. In 71 percent of the cases, the mother is the source. Research indicates that the cavity-causing bacteria known as Streptococcus mutans can be transmitted from mothers to infants even before teeth erupt. The better the mother’s oral health, the less the chance the baby will have problems.

The bacteria that infect the gums and cause gingivitis and periodontitis can travel to blood vessels elsewhere in the body where they cause blood vessel inflammation and damage, leading to tiny blood clots, heart attack, and stroke . However, it is important to note that poor oral health does not directly cause cardiovascular disease . Rather, it is the body’s immune response – inflammation – that sets off a cascade of vascular damage throughout the body, including the heart and brain.
